U.S. Pacific Fleet in Honolulu, Hawaii seeks a Data Scientist to implement advanced ML/AI models addressing operational challenges. You will work on end-to-end model development, from data preparation to deployment, supporting strategic planning with data-driven insights.

Required are at least one year of specialized federal experience at GS-12 level or equivalent, and strong skills in Python, ML libraries and data pipelines. This role may require travel and security clearance.

Qualifikationen

• At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-12 applying advanced data science, AI and ML techniques to solve complex operational challenges.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
• Experience with data cleaning, preprocessing, feature engineering and model validation.
• Knowledge of DoD cyber/workforce standards is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Perform a wide range of data science and ML duties in support of COMPACFLT operational requirements.
• Design, develop, test and deploy ML/AI models for Pacific Fleet operations.
• Research and implement advanced algorithms for large, diverse datasets.
• Identify and prepare datasets for AI model development including cleaning and validation.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to inform planning and strategy.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for training and evaluating AI models.
• Provide expert consultation on data science capabilities and limitations.
