Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect to plan and coordinate industrial facility projects, including nuclear and nonnuclear work, under NAVFAC guidance.

You will review designs for quality and safety and prepare justification for funds to support changes. The role requires professional engineering credentials or equivalent federal experience, with a strong emphasis on applying engineering methods to ensure compliance and performance.

Qualifications

• Requires professional engineering degree or licensure.
• Specialized experience demonstrates applying engineering methods to plan and coordinate industrial facilities or infrastructure projects.
• Registration as EI/EIT or PE is acceptable; FE exam may also satisfy registration requirements.
• Education must cover core engineering science areas (statics, dynamics, materials, fluids, thermodynamics) or equivalent.
• Other routes include extensive professional engineering experience with supervised training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and NAVFAC acquisition activities.
• Develop solutions for facility/equipment needs and waterfront capabilities.
• Plan, administer, coordinate, and manage projects (nuclear and nonnuclear facilities).
• Ensure project development, execution, and quality across facilities.
• Review engineering designs for requirements compliance and necessary support.
• Prepare justification documents for change orders funding.
