Job summary

NAVFAC Puget Sound is seeking a construction engineer or architect to support multi‑million dollar facility projects. You will assist senior professionals with drafting, calculations, site surveys, and reviewing contractor submittals, while helping administer construction contracts.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, budget and schedule management, and coordination with contractors and government staff. Professional engineering registration or EI/EIT status is required or highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires professional engineering degree or license (EI/EIT/PE).
• Experience with architectural drafting or engineering calculations.
• Ability to review standard contractor submittals and prepare statements of work.
• Knowledge of accident prevention plans and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist higher-level professionals with routine drafting and calculations.
• Review and approve contractor submittals (schedules, safety plans).
• Support contract administration and modifications discussions.
• Monitor budgets and schedules to ensure funding thresholds are not exceeded.
