Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Engine in Beloit, Wisconsin, seeks a Piping Assembler to fabricate piping for service orders and engine assemblies. The role involves assembling sub-assemblies, welding, brazing, and following exact drawings and Navy specifications.

You will work with manual and CNC pipe benders, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience/knowledge in assembly or pipefitting.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to use tools (e.g. pipe wrenches, clamps).
• Strong understanding of quality control principles.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
• High school diploma; higher degree from a technical school appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Receives job assignments, verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints, CNC pipe bending programs.
• Performs setup on sub-assemblies and assemblies for all product and production parts.
• Performs welding on jigs and fixtures; align, assemble, and weld parts as required.
• Sets up and operates manual and CNC pipe benders; traces pipes to CNC dimensions as needed.
• Follows Navy specifications on government orders; assembles piping to engine. Tests bends and records results.
