Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks a Command Docking Officer to lead safe ship docking and undocking evolutions in SWRMC docks, ensuring NAVSEA compliance and rigorous engineering oversight.

You will coordinate with NAVSEA, COMPACFLT, and NAVFAC to maintain dock certifications and support budgets. Responsibilities include directing docking operations, contracting coordination, and representing the department at senior-level meetings on docking program matters.

Qualifications

• Applying advanced professional engineering or architectural principles to provide leadership in ship drydocking evolutions.
• Inspection of drydock facilities to support fleet operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically and coordinate with NAVSEA and COMPACFLT.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and execute safe ship docking/undocking evolutions in SWRMC docks.
• Provide reports on docking progress and milestones to leadership until completion.
• Review and approve complex calculations for ship stability and dock loading.
• Ensure NAVSEA requirements and engineering rigor across the docking program.
• Coordinate dry dock facilities maintenance contracts through NAVFAC.
