Job summary

Ultra Maritime in the United States seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to join our engineering team. This entry‑level role applies mechanical design and analysis to the development, testing, and production of advanced defense systems, from concept through production.

You will support cross‑functional projects under experienced engineers, create 3D CAD models and drawings, assist prototype fabrication, and participate in design reviews. U.S.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 0+ years of professional engineering experience or internship.
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to meet cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Design, analyze, and maintain mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and change documents.
  • Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for new and existing products.
  • Support prototype fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Conduct prototype and qualification testing to evaluate performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Collect and analyze test data and recommend design improvements.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Systems, Electrical, and Configuration Management teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Assist with resolving production issues and implementing improvements.
  • Travel to customer sites, suppliers, or test facilities up to 10%.
