Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician III (Corrosion) to support on-site Hull, Mechanical & Electrical engineering for DDG 51 Class Flight III ships in Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on corrosion prevention, system maintenance, and technical documentation updates to ensure readiness.

Qualified candidates will have corrosion control experience on Navy ships, familiarity with EOSS/PMS, and ability to coordinate crew activities during trials and certifications.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in the prevention and control of corrosion and in hull, topside, interior, and deck surface coating systems with Navy ships.
• Three (3) years of experience with the application of environmental and safety regulations such as NESHAP, EPA, OSHA and VOC compliance.
• Three (3) years of experience conducting surveys of underwater hull and related structures to evaluate corrosion control effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Research spare parts requirements and provide actionable information to end users.
• Deliver updates to technical documentation for installation, testing, operation, and maintenance of ship systems.
