Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an Engineering Technician Level III (Corrosion) in San Diego, CA to support HM&E engineering for DDG 51 Flight III ships. The role involves corrosion control oversight, documentation updates, and participation in ship trials and readiness activities.

The ideal candidate has corrosion control experience on Navy ships, familiarity with regulatory standards, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a demanding maritime environment.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of corrosion prevention and control on Navy ships (hull, topside, interior, deck surfaces).
• Experience with regulations: Clean Air Act, NESHAP, EPA, OSHA, ASTM 718F, VOC handling.
• Corrosion control surveys of underwater hulls and surfaces to assess system effectiveness.
• Experience documenting updates to technical manuals and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for spare parts and ship systems; advise end users.
• Update installation, testing, operation, and maintenance documentation for ship systems.
• Review and update EOSS, PMS, and Technical Manuals as needed.
