Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks a professional engineer to provide technical direction for naval surface ship and submarine combat systems in support of modernization, maintenance, or overhaul at overseas duty locations, including Guam.

The role requires a professional engineering degree or equivalent qualifications, with potential for advancement and overseas assignments. Candidates must meet DoD requirements, obtain security clearance, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Professional engineering degree required (bachelor’s or higher).
• EI/EIT registration or PE licensure required/eligible.
• FE exam or equivalent licensure path acceptable.
• 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for surface ship/submarine combat systems on modernization, maintenance, repair, or overhaul projects.
• Conduct engineering studies, investigations, and analyses for complex problems.
• Lead oversight troubleshooting during installation, grooming, or testing phases of waterfront production efforts.
• Prepare Technical Work Documents with system specifications for work performed.
• Collaborate with shop and code analysts to implement process improvements.
