HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an entry-level designer to create components and modify designs to aid manufacturing. You will work with CAD tools like CAD, CAM, NX, or CATIA to prepare layouts and proposals.

Requires an Associate's Degree or equivalent, with 0 years of experience; Autocad and 3D classes are a nice-to-have. This is a first-shift, full-time role at Newport News, VA.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required (or equivalent).
• 0 years of experience required.
• NNS Apprentice School or NNPS graduates optional equivalents accepted.
• High School/GED with related manufacturing/shipbuilding/military experience may qualify.

Responsabilités

• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to improve products and manufacturing.
• Uses CAD/CAM/NX/CATIA or similar tools to develop layouts and sketches.
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material and planning groups.
