Qualifications

  • Pursuing a BS in a natural resources-, cultural resources-, ecosystem science-, or environmental compliance-related field (at least a sophomore standing).
  • At least 3 months and no more than 3 years of relevant experience, including internships or fieldwork.
  • Basic field data collection skills (vegetation surveys, wildlife monitoring, GPS mapping).
  • Experience performing wildlife demographic and monitoring.
  • Experience vegetation surveys and timber inventories.
  • Experience with word processing, database entry, and data retrieval.
  • Experience working on a military installation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with fish and wildlife surveys and habitat surveys.
  • Support forest management projects and prescribed activities.
  • Utilize GIS to create maps from field data and observations.
  • Represent the Fort A.P. Hill program at meetings and events.
  • Prepare tables and graphs for reports and management plans.
