Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Manager of Environmental Sciences - Natural Resources to lead a multidisciplinary team across compliance, permitting, policy, and stewardship. You will drive strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to support generation, transmission, distribution, and renewables, while partnering with regulators, consultants, and internal units to ensure environmental excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Science or Engineering.
Minimum 7 years related work experience.
In lieu of bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience, 15 years related work experience.
Preferred: Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related fields.
Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary environmental programs.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Natural Resources organization with strategic planning and budgeting.
Direct enterprise natural resource programs including protected species, habitats, and permitting.
Partner with leadership to align environmental stewardship with business priorities.
Provide regulatory oversight, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Engage internal customers and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and performance.
