Job summary

Duke Energy in the United States seeks a Manager Environmental Sciences-Natural Resources to lead a multidisciplinary team across generation, transmission, distribution and renewables, overseeing compliance, permitting, policy, and environmental stewardship.

The role focuses on strategic program leadership, regulatory risk management, and engaging with regulators, consultants, and internal business units to align safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Science or Engineering (minimum)
7 years related work experience (minimum)
In lieu of degree: 15 years related experience
Strong leadership and supervisory experience
Knowledge of federal/state natural resource regulations and permitting

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and manage the Natural Resources organization including budgeting and succession planning.
Oversee natural resource programs: protected species, habitats, avian protection, permitting, policy, and reviews.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and reliable energy operations.
Drive continuous improvement, knowledge management, training, and project management processes.
