Job summary

Lake Region Electric Cooperative seeks a Natural Gas, Warehouse & Facilities Technician (internally: Service Technician) for the Ottertail, MN on-site team. This full-time role blends natural gas system maintenance with warehouse, inventory, building maintenance, and grounds upkeep to support safe and reliable service for our members.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, organized, safety-minded, and capable of taking initiative.

Qualifications

• A combination of education and experience equivalent to four years in utility operations, warehouse operations, material handling, construction, or a related field.
• Experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or natural gas utility work is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and material-handling machinery.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Cooperative insurability requirements, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required for assigned duties.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required natural gas Operator Qualifications and forklift operator certification.
• Ability to work the regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility to respond to natural gas emergencies, snow removal, facility emergencies, and other operational needs outside standard business hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

Starting pay for this union position ranges from $31.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience and in accordance with established union wage progression steps. The position includes a structured training and wage progression period of up to 3.5 years.
