I’m working on a confidential search for a Houston-based energy trading business looking to add a trader to its Gulf Coast natural gas desk.

The focus is on physical cash trading across Louisiana and East Texas, with an opportunity for someone who understands the regional market and wants to take the next step in their trading career.

The opportunity

• Physical natural gas trading across the Gulf Coast, with a focus on Louisiana and East Texas.

• A clear progression path towards a senior trader position, including increased VAR limits and trading responsibility as performance develops.

Who would suit this?

I'm interested in speaking with people with around 2–8 years' experience in physical natural gas markets, particularly those coming from:

• Gulf Coast cash trading or short‑term trading.
• Gas scheduling, with a strong understanding of physical flows, supply and demand, and regional pricing.
• Gas origination or commercial roles with genuine exposure to physical trading.
• Asset management or optimisation roles where you've developed a feel for the market and want more direct trading responsibility.

You don't necessarily need to be a fully established trader already. The key is understanding the Gulf Coast market, being commercially minded and having the ambition to build a book.
