Job summary

Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council seeks a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services to Native Americans with disabilities in Ashland, WI. This full-time, in-office role supports employment outcomes, requiring daily client interaction and interagency collaboration.

The counselor will build individualized employment plans, arrange evaluations, and coordinate with employers to place clients in suitable positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Human Services, Social Work or related field.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in human services is preferred.
• Experience with a Native American Tribal organization and/or non-profit agency desirable.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility of Native Americans to participate in vocational rehabilitation and communicate eligibility.
• Provide ineligible individuals with alternative resource suggestions and complete documentation.
• Develop and manage caseload in rehabilitation services including counseling, evaluation, training, and job placement.
• Review client medical, psychological, and vocational information; arrange assessments as needed.
• Develop and implement an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) with clients; coordinate with agencies.
