Working as a Specification Sales Manager for Lighting Controls at Cooper Lighting Solutions is dynamic. You will be responsible for the attainment of Division and Corporate goals for specification growth and management of relationships for assigned product lines. The responsibilities of this position will include driving the specification brand awareness with End Users, School Boards, and Engineers in Western US. Working with manufacturers' reps and Cooper Lighting Solution's counterparts to spec/sell a lighting controls solution.

What you'll do

  • Immediately gain controls specification market share in the education & healthcare verticals within key territories. Western US

  • Perform focus sales initiatives with end users & school boards to differentiate Cooper Controls as the go to lighting controls solution.

  • Analyzes sales levels and trends through market research and initiates pro-active or corrective actions as required to assure attainment of objectives.

  • Assures that appropriate technical guidance and assistance regarding product applications is available to customer.

  • Works closely with, develops, and coordinates activities with application service departments within CLS and agency partners to develop world class specification support.

  • Promotes and markets company strategy through customer interaction at industry groups including speaking at conventions and tradeshows.

  • Serve as "Voice of the Customer" by making recommendations and supplying feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure products meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • Working in conjunction with the National Sales Director on additional responsibilities to ensure Cooper Controls growth in 2025!

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university

  • 3+ years sales or marketing management experience in an electrical products industry. Lighting or Controls industry experience preferred.

  • Experience in identified market segments also preferred.

  • Well-developed communication, organizational, motivational and human relations skills.

  • Ideally based in California or major city in Western United States

What you'll get in return...

Salary:$106,000 - $155,000 Base

Bonus:Target 35% Sales Incentive bonus
