Job Title: National (Western US States) Controls Specification Sales Manager - Cooper Lighting Solutions

We are

Our portfolio includes indoor and outdoor lighting, lighting controls, and smart lighting systems.

As a Specification Sales Manager for Lighting Controls at Cooper Lighting Solutions, you will be responsible for achieving division and corporate goals related to specification growth and managing relationships for assigned product lines. Your role involves increasing brand awareness among end users, school boards, and engineers in the Western US, collaborating with manufacturers’ reps and our internal teams to specify and sell lighting control solutions.

What you’ll do

  1. Gain market share in controls specifications within the education and healthcare verticals in the Western US.
  2. Lead sales initiatives targeting end users and school boards to position Cooper Controls as the preferred lighting controls provider.
  3. Analyze sales data and market trends, implementing proactive or corrective actions to meet objectives.
  4. Provide technical guidance and support regarding product applications to customers.
  5. Coordinate with application service departments and agency partners to develop top-tier specification support.
  6. Promote company strategies through participation in industry groups, conventions, and trade shows.
  7. Act as the 'Voice of the Customer' by providing feedback to product management and engineering to ensure offerings meet customer needs.
  8. Collaborate with the National Sales Director on initiatives to grow Cooper Controls in 2025.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • At least 3 years of sales or marketing management experience in the electrical products industry, with a preference for lighting or controls experience.
  • Experience in target market segments is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Location in California or a major city in the Western US is preferred.

  • Salary: $106,000 - $155,000 base
  • Bonus: Target 35% sales incentive bonus
