Job summary

McGough is an established construction partner with six generations of experience in planning, development, construction and facility management. The Project Engineer role is entry-level in the project management career path, assisting in PM tasks and progressively taking on more responsibilities.

Key activities include pursuing opportunities, handling estimates and bids, supporting CPM scheduling, prepping RFIs and submittals, and participating in BIM/coordination and LEED documentation

Qualifications

• Construction Management or related degree is preferred.
• Internship, education or field experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pursuit, Preconstruction and Business Development: Assist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirements; participate in QA/AC page turn sessions.
• Estimating and Bidding: Perform quantity take-offs; assist project team in soliciting and reviewing subcontract bids; assist in performing trade scope reviews.
• Scheduling: Assist superintendent and project manager with CPM scheduling; learn Last Planner system; participate in daily/weekly work planning.
• Project Documentation: Review drawings and specifications; upload/download electronic documents; draft and process RFIs; review shop drawings/submittals; participate in BIM coordination meetings; assist in obtaining LEED documentation.
• Subcontract Management: Assist project team in reviewing and processing subcontractor change requests; assist in reviewing subcontractor invoices.
• Cost Control: Understand change document types; assist in tracking labor costs; assist with procurement and cost coding; collect and report cost history data.
• Project Meetings: Attend project and safety meetings; draft minutes for foremen and coordination meetings; participate in startup andPACE meetings.
• Post-Construction: Participate in punchlist; assist in preparing final as-built plans and documentation.
• Other Responsibilities: Participate in business development activities; establish relationships with clients and partners; attend training and company events; support and follow standard of work; participate in Lean events.
