Job summary

McGough is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to support the project management team on high-profile construction projects. The role involves assisting in day-to-day PM tasks, learning CPM scheduling, reviewing drawings and specs, and supporting preconstruction and business development activities.

You will gain hands-on experience across pursuit, QA sessions, estimating, documentation, and coordination with subcontractors while traveling to project sites nationwide as needed.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position in project management career path.
• Must have or be pursuing a Construction Management or related degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project management tasks as assigned by the project management staff.
• Develop skills and progressively take on more responsibility.
• Assist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirements.
• Participate in QA/AC page turn sessions.
• Understand self-perform capabilities and related warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools and services.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist in reviewing subcontract bids and trade scope reviews.
• Assist in CPM scheduling and learn Last Planner system.
• Review drawings and specifications; process RFI and submittals; participate in BIM coordination meetings; obtain LEED documentation if needed.
• Assist in reviewing subcontractor change requests and invoices.
• Understand change document types and assist in tracking labor costs and cost coding.
