Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Business Class Lead to represent HDR geotechnical engineering to national and regional clients. The role includes hiring and managing staff to support HDR’s strategy in emerging markets and leads deep foundation design and construction efforts.

The candidate will coordinate project approaches, mentor staff, develop proposals, and work with the geotechnical services director to align strategies and advance practice nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional registration and related technical experience.
• Experience leading diverse teams and working with regional directors/managers.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor, and improve geotechnical staff competencies for deep foundation design and construction.
• Engage projects, review approaches and resources for optimal team arrangement.
• Select, train, mentor and manage geotechnical personnel.
• Promote the geotechnical practice and establish partnerships to advance concepts and mitigate risks.
• Develop marketing plans, proposals, and participate in client interviews.
• Collaborate with HDR geotechnical services director to align strategies and drive community of practice.
• Facilitate national training programs via NHI instructor credential and DOT training deployment.
• Function as project manager or geotechnical task lead on projects.
