Job summary

EMT Holdings is seeking a National Training Standard (NTS) certified Background Investigator in Columbia, SC. You will conduct interviews with subjects, employers, and references, review records, and document findings to resolve issues and assess suitability. A BA/BS or equivalent experience with 3+ years in investigations is typical; local travel is required.

The role requires Top-Secret clearance eligibility and offers competitive compensation with a dedicated national security focus.

• Experience conducting background investigations.
• Typically has a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Proven quality, timeliness, and production metrics.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a favorable determination based on a Single Scope Background Investigation.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required as driving is an essential function of this position. May use public transportation if available, and practical. Must be willing to travel locally daily dependent on assignment location.

Responsibilities

• You’ll conduct comprehensive interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable individuals and review appropriate records to obtain facts to resolve all material issues in a case or to establish the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of the subject under investigation.
• You will document all information received and submit a detailed report of investigation within a strict timeline.
