National Sales Director - Florida (Southeast) - Oncology Sales

Position Summary:

The National Sales Director (NSD) is a key leadership position responsible for strategically leading a team of Regional Sales Directors, Account Executives, and Account Managers to achieve Oncology Sales business objectives for the Southeast Area, reporting to the VP Sales, Oncology. The NSD works closely with internal partners to develop and execute local strategic plans based on market insights and dynamics, aligning with national strategies, budgets, and compliance guidelines. The NSD will foster a performance-based culture aligned with Guardant Health’s values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve quarterly sales volume goals for the Southeast Area.
  2. Develop strategic and tactical plans to gain and retain clients, supporting sales targets and business objectives.
  3. Build and leverage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and key accounts to gather insights for strategy shaping.
  4. Coach and develop sales teams to improve skills and meet objectives.
  5. Manage team performance through coaching, feedback, and documentation.
  6. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure goal attainment.
  7. Successfully launch new products and enhancements.
  8. Monitor regional trends in oncology diagnostics, healthcare delivery, and reimbursement landscapes, providing strategic insights.
  9. Identify threats and opportunities, adjusting go-to-market tactics proactively.
  10. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  11. Represent Guardant Health’s values externally and internally at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of successful field-based sales leadership experience.
  2. Proven ability to recruit, retain, and develop top talent.
  3. Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks.
  4. Strong business acumen to diagnose market dynamics and develop insights.
  5. Outstanding knowledge of market, customer, distribution, and product landscape.
  6. Proficiency in engaging and selling at the executive level.
  7. Understanding of payor and reimbursement environments in oncology and diagnostics.
  8. Ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of above-average performance in second-line healthcare sales leadership.
  2. 5+ years working with major cancer centers, clinics, and large oncology practices.
  3. Strong understanding of oncology lab diagnostics and the competitive landscape.
  4. Excellent strategic account planning skills.
  5. Experience with the Challenger Selling model.
  6. B.S. in life sciences, biology, business, or marketing; MBA preferred, or relevant experience.
  7. Frequent travel (>50%) within the territory.
  8. Ability to sit or stand for long periods.

The US base salary range is $200,000 to $275,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, commissions, or equity. Salary depends on location, skills, experience, and education.
