Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
• Selective Service registration may be required for males born on/after 12/31/1959
• Probationary period may be required for new supervisors
• Current ATF employee with competitive status or CTAP/RPL eligible candidate preferred
• Pass drug screening and subject to random drug testing
• Background investigation required for suitability
• Meet time-in-grade requirements by closing date of the announcement

Responsibilities

• Advises top Bureau management on policy issues and technical matters
• Leads complex studies and coordinates task forces on national significance issues
• Provides technical assistance on major national investigations under ATF jurisdiction
• Guides HQ and field managers on new developments and trends affecting the program
• Prepares and presents briefings/papers to Congress, Bureau management, and partner agencies
