Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Lexington, part of CommonSpirit Health, offers a National Nurse Residency program starting November 9 for new graduates. This hands-on, mentorship-focused experience helps build confidence from day one.

You will work with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, monitor vitals, and apply evidence-based practices while advancing your nursing career.

Qualifications

• Associates of Science Nursing (AS Nurse) and 0–12 months RN experience on hire.
• Registered Nurse licensure in KY on hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification on hire.
• BSN preferred but not required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care under supervision within the Nurse Residency program.
• Monitor vitals, administer treatments, and educate patients and families.
• Engage in evidence-based nursing practice and collaborate with interprofessional teams.

As a National Nurse Resident, you’ll step into a hands‑on, supportive experience designed to help you grow and build confidence from day one. You won’t be on your own. You can expect real mentorship, meaningful feedback, and a team invested in your long‑term success.

Every day, you’ll collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver care that sees each patient as an individual. You’ll administer treatments, track vitals, educate patients and families, and play a key role in making sure people feel seen, heard, and cared for.

To succeed in this role, you’ll actively engage in our comprehensive, evidence‑based Nurse Residency Program designed to support your growth and professional development. With a strong drive to learn and a team‑first mindset, you’ll continue sharpening your skills while building a meaningful, fulfilling nursing career.

• Evidence-based Practice (EBP) and Patient Care: Builds skills to utilize current evidence based practice knowledge, the nursing process, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals across the lifespan and care continuum.
