Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, part of CommonSpirit Health, is hiring a National Nurse Resident for the November 9 cohort. This program offers mentorship and hands-on experiences to build confidence from day one.

You will collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, administer care, track vitals, and educate patients, while growing through an evidence-based Nurse Residency Program.

Qualifications

• Associates Of Science Nursing and 0-12 months of professional nursing experience upon hire.
• Registered Nurse license in KY upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification upon hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatments and tracks vitals as part of patient care.
• Educates patients and families and collaborates with the interprofessional team.
• Participates in a Nurse Residency Program to support growth and development.
• Engages in evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.

This position is eligible for up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus AND up to $24,000 Student Loan Assistance

As a National Nurse Resident, you’ll step into a hands-on, supportive experience designed to help you grow and build confidence from day one. You won’t be on your own. You can expect real mentorship, meaningful feedback, and a team invested in your long-term success.

Every day, you’ll collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver care that sees each patient as an individual. You’ll administer treatments, track vitals, educate patients and families, and play a key role in making sure people feel seen, heard, and cared for.

To succeed in this role, you’ll actively engage in our comprehensive, evidence-based Nurse Residency Program designed to support your growth and professional development. With a strong drive to learn and a team-first mindset, you’ll continue sharpening your skills while building a meaningful, fulfilling nursing career.

• Evidence-based Practice (EBP) and Patient Care: Builds skills to utilize current evidence based practice knowledge, the nursing process, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals across the lifespan and care continuum.
• Interprofessional Collaboration and Communication: Learns to collaborate and communicate with the interprofessional team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
