General Summary

The role involves developing and managing key National Marketing Organization (NMO) relationships and aligning with field sales and client management. The incumbent will foster partnerships with NMO management, facilitate sales growth, remove obstacles, provide training, and develop relationships. Responsibilities include creating and executing business plans at the NMO and local levels to drive growth, translating plans into actionable steps for the field, and balancing corporate objectives with partner influence.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Drive activities leading to profitable sales growth for assigned partners.
  2. Support persistency and close ratio improvements through initiatives.
  3. Build strong relationships with partners and share Unum’s value story.
  4. Communicate regularly with national contacts and brokers.
  5. Lead annual strategy sessions with partners to impact sales goals.
  6. Manage special projects like market initiatives and cross-product sales.
  7. Develop and execute training with partners on Unum’s offerings.
  8. Monitor partner results and take corrective actions.
  9. Facilitate issue resolution with decision makers.
  10. Coordinate with sales offices on contracts and initiatives.
  11. Support product development with feedback and expertise.
  12. Collaborate with field force, underwriting, and customer service.
  13. Manage marketing expenses and service fees.
  14. Lead, develop, and motivate a team to strengthen broker relationships.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of experience in insurance or similar industry
  • Experience managing people and developing talent
  • Experience in employee benefit sales preferred
  • Credibility with sales force and brokerage channels

The salary range for this position is $89,900 - $169,900, based on skills, location, and experience. Unum offers a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, insurance, incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions. All benefits are subject to plan terms.
