Job summary

Syneos Health, Inc. seeks a National Program Director to lead field commercial strategy in partnership with client Sales Leadership from Philadelphia, PA.

This role oversees recruiting, coaching, and accountability across the field sales team, ensuring program goals, financial oversight, and timely delivery of services in alignment with client needs. You will drive national sales strategy, monitor market dynamics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Life Sciences, Master’s preferred.
  • 15+ years of commercial pharmaceutical experience.
  • 5+ years in leading national or regional teams/2nd line leader experience.
  • 3+ years of recent Cardiovascular experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in leadership, management and operational oversight with a strong product launch background.
  • Analytical in nature, metric driven, with a strong ability to develop sales strategy and ensure effective tactical execution.
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially in project planning, project implementation, and cross-functional team management.
  • Ability to hire, lead, coach, and mentor high performing teams.
  • Diverse Commercial experience in Training, Marketing, Sales Ops, Market Access, IC preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong understanding of account management and sales operational functions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure sales targets are met or exceeded by holding sales leaders and representatives accountable.
  • Function as the primary liaison between client and internal operational elements.
  • Responsible for overall P&L of the Project.
  • Ensure contracted services, information flow and all other deliverables are completed on time.
  • Develop/execute national sales strategy to achieve brand goals & product success.
  • Monitor sales trends, account performance, competitive landscape and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborate on performance goals and objectives at all levels and measures to ensure achievement.
  • Collaborate with Analysis & Reporting to design reports and tools to monitor attainment of goals.
  • Oversee recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and staffing of management, sales and engagement center sales team.
  • Minimize turnover through selection process and ongoing leadership actions.
  • Provide frequent, ongoing performance feedback to all direct reports and foster a team-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate on incentive compensation plan design and oversee plan administration.
  • Establish performance expectations and oversee activity of direct reports within field management and Client Services structure.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with the client to discuss business issues.
  • Recommend solutions toward increasing productivity and efficiency for client.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external experts.
  • Develop sub-national convention strategy to be executed by sales team.
  • Oversee performance management process for all team members and ensure fair resolution of disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct regular meetings with account and field sales management teams and representatives to discuss program issues.

While reporting to the VP of Field Sales and dotted line into client Leadership, the National Program Director (NPD) will lead the hiring and execution of the field commercial strategy in partnership with client Sales Leadership. The NPD will be the primary contact for all matters related to the product promotion and the field team while providing leadership, coaching, management, financial and operations oversight in partnership with commercial peers and leadership while driving sales execution and accountability for performance. This role will be the primary contact for the client and the NPD will engage all services and functional areas to deliver client solutions. The NPD will adhere to all industry and corporate policies & procedures.

Key Job Responsibilities: (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following)
