  • Hands-on events and experiential marketing experience
  • Experience with hospitality/food & beverage/consumer brands preferred
  • Excellent writing, pitching, and communication skills
  • Highly organized with multiple projects
  • Agency experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute national PR strategies across multiple clients
  • Secure earned media in major national outlets, digital media, podcasts
  • Build and maintain relationships with national journalists and producers
  • Develop creative, timely, and newsworthy story angles
  • Write pitches, press releases, media alerts, talking points
  • Coordinate interviews and press opportunities
  • Identify opportunities for founder and executive thought leadership
  • Identify trends and news cycles for client participation
  • Manage PR calendars and multiple campaigns
  • Track placements and campaign results
  • Plan and execute events, brand launches, media events, influencer experiences

Job description

Solid State Marketing is seeking an experienced National PR Specialist with a proven track record of securing national media coverage and experience planning and executing events, launches, and brand activations.

We work with a growing roster of hospitality, lifestyle, entertainment, food & beverage, and consumer brands. We’re looking for someone who can develop strong stories, secure meaningful national coverage, and help bring PR-worthy experiences to life.

National PR Specialist
The Role

This position will lead national media outreach while also playing an active role in events and experiential marketing.

You should be equally comfortable pitching a national editor or producer, developing a compelling PR angle, building a media and influencer guest list, and being on-site to help execute a major brand event.

PR Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute national PR strategies across multiple clients
  • Secure earned media in major national publications, broadcast outlets, digital media, podcasts, and relevant industry publications
  • Build and maintain relationships with national journalists, editors, producers, and contributors
  • Develop creative, timely, and newsworthy story angles
  • Write pitches, press releases, media alerts, talking points, and other PR materials
  • Coordinate interviews, media appearances, and press opportunities
  • Identify opportunities for founder and executive thought leadership
  • Proactively identify trends and news cycles that clients can participate in
  • Maintain PR calendars and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Track placements and campaign results
Events & Experiential
  • Help develop concepts for brand launches, grand openings, media events, influencer experiences, and experiential activations
  • Plan and execute events from concept through completion
  • Coordinate vendors, venues, entertainment, production, gifting, and logistics
  • Develop media, influencer, VIP, and community guest lists
  • Manage invitations, RSVPs, and event communications
  • Identify partnership and sponsorship opportunities
  • Work closely with our social, influencer, creative, and marketing teams
  • Attend and manage events on-site as needed
  • Turn events and activations into opportunities for earned media, influencer coverage, social content, and brand awareness
What We’re Looking For
  • 4+ years of PR/media relations experience preferred
  • Proven track record of securing national earned media
  • Existing relationships with national media strongly preferred
  • Hands-on event and experiential marketing experience
  • Experience with hospitality, food & beverage, spirits, nightlife, entertainment, lifestyle, or consumer brands strongly preferred
  • Excellent writing, pitching, and communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple fast-moving projects
  • Creative, resourceful, and proactive
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
