Job summary

Hubbard Broadcasting Inc. is seeking a remote National Podcast AE to drive sales of Gamut’s podcast inventory, engaging ad agencies and brands across major platforms. Travel for client meetings and events will be required.

You will report to the GM of Gamut, own a revenue budget, and help develop sales materials while collaborating with local teams. A strong sales background and podcast knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience as SDR, Account Manager, or AE with prospecting chops.
  • Podcast industry experience preferred (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts) and ad tech familiarity.
  • Knowledge of podcast audience measurement (downloads, impressions, IAB standards).
  • Excellent communication, emails/presentations, and follow-up skills.
  • Resilient, able to handle rejection and use feedback to improve.
  • Ability to create a sales plan and manage the funnel independently.
  • Proficient with sales tools; familiarity with Office 365 and Teams.

Job Overview

This position will be responsible for driving national sales of Gamut’s podcast inventory. Reporting directly to the GM of Gamut, this role will carry a sales budget and lead prospecting efforts. The focus will be on engaging national ad agencies and in-house audio teams at brands advertising in the podcast space, including buyers evaluating YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other major platforms. The AE will collaborate with local market sellers as needed and assist in developing sales materials alongside the GM. Success in this role requires strong sales acumen, resilience, and a deep passion for podcasts. This is a fully remote position, with regular travel for client meetings and industry events.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead national sales of Gamut’s podcast inventory, targeting ad agencies and brands.
  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals across direct, agency, and sponsorship business.
  • Conduct independent prospecting, identifying key decision-makers at target companies, and tailoring outreach based on insights.
  • Collaborate with the GM to develop and customize sales materials, presentations, and sponsorship proposals for various clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with national ad agencies and brands, owning follow-up and driving deals to close.
  • Partner with local market sellers as needed to ensure a cohesive sales strategy.
  • Maintain a working understanding of podcast distribution and measurement across platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, and IAB-certified download and impression metrics.
  • Stay current on host-read, programmatic, and dynamic ad insertion (DAI) buying models, and clearly explain the trade-offs to clients.
  • Regularly update the GM on sales activity, pipeline, and progress against forecast.
  • Contribute content and insights to Gamut’s LinkedIn presence to support brand visibility, thought leadership, and lead generation.
  • Obtain credit approval for new national accounts and ensure timely payment of receivables, coordinating with finance on collections for past-due business as needed.
  • Attend special events involving clients, which may occur after business hours and on weekends.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an SDR, Account Manager, or AE with strong prospecting chops. Able to quickly identify good prospects and key decision-makers.
  • Podcast industry experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with major platforms (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts) and podcast ad tech (e.g. Megaphone, Art19, AdsWizz), or a passionate podcast listener with a strong understanding of the space.
  • Working knowledge of podcast audience measurement (downloads, impressions, IAB standards) sufficient to speak credibly to advertisers about performance.
  • Superior communication skills, with an ability to take articulate and thoughtful notes, customize emails and presentations based on client needs, and follow up on every meeting with action steps.
  • Emotionally tough and resilient, thriving in an environment where rejection is common, and using feedback to sharpen skills.
  • Capable of independently creating a sales plan, organizing the sales funnel, and driving forward without requiring constant guidance.
  • Skilled at creating presentations, managing the sales funnel, and handling follow-up cadence without external support.
  • Comfortable using various sales tools and software. Working knowledge of O365 including Teams.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and be insurable. Applicant’s driving record will be checked.

Compensation and Benefits

When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate's work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity and other market and business considerations.
Base Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Commission of 3% to 10% depending on business secured (Paid monthly).
