Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a National Insite QA/QC Manager to ensure compliant operations across regions with 50%+ overnight travel. You will oversee QA/QC programs, minimize risk, and protect margins while driving safety and regulatory adherence.

The role advances from InSite Ops Manager and requires strong leadership, training delivery, and cross-functional collaboration across sites and programs. Full-time with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or Environmental Science preferred.
• 3+ years of hazardous waste experience.
• Ability to develop and deliver training on environmental health, safety, and hazardous materials.
• Familiarity with federal/state regulatory requirements for Small and Large Quantity Generators.

Responsibilities

• Perform site evaluations and compliance checks using MS Forms.
• Visit top 5 customers per region.
• Update site SharePoint content, ensuring JHAs, SOPs, Ops Manual, and HASP information are current.
• Conduct monthly Best in Class in-person assessments.
• Support implementations, startups, and onboarding of new hires.
• Provide coverage for LOA, terminations, and PTO, ensuring proper waste packaging, profiling, and labeling prior to shipment.

Clean Harbors is looking for a National Insite QA/QC Manager who will be responsible for remaining compliant with standards established for their region. This position will require 50% + of overnight travel

The National InSite Manager role delivers measurable financial and operational impact across multiple dimensions:

1. New Program Launches - Revenue Enablement & Cost Control

These leaders ensure Day 1 operational readiness, accelerating speed-to-revenue while minimizing startup errors, rework, and corrective actions.

Their ability to standardize processes reduces long-term labor costs and enhances customer confidence and contract stability.

2. LOA Coverage - Revenue Protection & Business Continuity

By providing seamless coverage during Leaves of Absence, the role prevents service disruptions, SLA violations, emergency backfills, and premium labor costs.

This protects contract revenue and reduces operational risk exposure.

3. QA/QC Oversight - Margin Protection & Risk Mitigation

Through proactive quality assurance and compliance oversight, these managers prevent chargebacks, credits, safety incidents, and regulatory risk.

Their oversight reduces rework expenses and supports consistent margin performance across programs.

4. Talent Attraction & Retention

Due to the extensive travel requirements and elevated level of responsibility, aligning title and total compensation is critical to attract and retain qualified talent.

The National InSite Manager designation represents a promotional step from the current InSite Ops Manager role and reflects the broader organizational impact.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
• Establish baseline audit protocols for new waste programs, document compliance parameters for each project location.
• Collaborate with Ops Manager, Site Lead, Branch Manager, and other resources to track corrective actions and share "Lessons Learned."
• Perform site evaluations (Site General Assessments) and compliance checks using MS Forms.
• Visit and assess top 5 customers per region.
• Review and update site SharePoint content, ensuring JHAs, SOPs, Ops Manual, and HASP information are current.
• Conduct monthly Best in Class in-person assessments.
• Support implementations, startups, and onboarding of new hires.
• Provide coverage for LOA, terminations, and PTO, ensuring proper waste packaging, profiling, and labeling prior to shipment.

• High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's in chemistry, biology, or Environmental Science preferred.
• 3+ years of hazardous waste experience.
• Ability to develop and deliver training materials related to environmental health, safety, and hazardous materials management.
• Familiarity with federal/state regulatory requirements for Small and Large Quantity Generators.

• Waste Disposal - Comprehensive disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at Company-owned facilities
• Recycling Services - Extensive recycling, reuse and reclamation options for materials such as solvents, chemicals, oil and electrical equipment
• Chemical Packing - Safe, efficient handling and disposal of the widest range of chemicals, including reactive and compressed gases
• Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Services - HHW collection programs of all types and sizes, facilitated by Clean Harbors expert personnel
