Job summary

Road Safety Services (RSS) is seeking a National Director of Flagging Operations to drive strategy, growth, and operating performance of our flagging business across the United States. This hands-on leader will build operations within the RSS footprint and expand into new markets.

The role requires building strong leadership teams, developing customer relationships, and delivering safety, service, and financial results while traveling extensively to support nationwide rollout and ongoing

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience building and managing private-sector traffic control and flagging operations.
• Experience launching, growing, or managing flagging operations across multiple locations or markets.
• Strong knowledge of flagging operations, temporary traffic control, work zone safety, staffing, equipment, and field execution.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead management and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Launch and grow flagging operations across existing RSS markets and new Greenfield opportunities.
• Identify target markets and develop staffing, equipment, customers, and operational readiness plans.
• Recruit, build, lead, and develop flagging management and field teams.
• Establish consistent operating procedures, safety programs, training standards, and performance expectations.
• Drive operational performance with accountability for safety, service, productivity, growth, and financial results.
• Partner with executive leadership on expansion strategy, priorities, capital needs, and growth plans.
• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, utilities, data centers, municipalities, state agencies, and other key customers.
• Serve as a senior customer contact and support local management in strengthening customer relationships.
• Partner with Estimating on project opportunities, bidding, and capacity.
