Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Railroad Flagger to help keep crews safe on active rail lines.

You will coordinate flagging operations, communicate with dispatchers and train crews, and enforce safety rules under federal requirements. This full-time role in Cedar City, UT requires at least two years of railroad experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to travel for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Basic computer tools experience (email, phone, texting)
• Comfort with Android tablets/smartphones
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
• Clear verbal and written communication
• Knowledge of railroad engineering, design, construction, and safety
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Willingness to travel long periods (months)
• Ability to complete required training

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities at the job site
• Communicate with dispatchers, train crews, railroad staff, and contractors
• Lead safety briefings before work begins
• Follow and enforce all railroad, state, and federal rules
• Ensure contractors meet training requirements
• Spot and address any rule violations
• Complete daily reports on work activities
• Maintain on-track safety per federal regulations
