This remote role travels primarily to the West US and partners with Medical Education, sales and product management to build a sales training strategy that drives surgeon adoption and revenue growth. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in sales or related experience, plus 3+ years leading learning initiatives in healthcare or medical devices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, science or related field.
  • MBA preferred or equivalent advanced degree.
  • 10+ years in sales or industry experience.
  • 3+ years leading a learning function in sales/marketing/training/product management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs with Corporate National/Regional Sales and leadership.

Title: National Field Development Specialist - Foot and Ankle & Trauma

Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $131,500 Salary Maximum: $240,000

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a National Field Development Specialist to work closely with Medical Education, sales and product management to develop a sales strategy in the training program. The successful candidate will influence key stakeholders on learning and development strategies.

The position is remote to be based in the West US and does require frequent travel. Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better.

Main Objective:

Aids in the development and implementation of training programs for agency and corporate staff that are based outside of headquarters. Establishes objectives for, and creates, develops, and administers, in whole or in part, a training program including sales techniques and skills, product and product applications information, group referencing, and role playing. Develops and provides materials and developmental support to sales regions for trainings, presentations at conferences or sales meetings. Will work closely with Medical Education, corporate sales management, product management, and/or marketing team to develop a sales strategy and then incorporates this strategy into the training programs. The candidate will support the field in surgical cases to drive adoption, optimize outcomes, and generate sustained revenue growth. This will cover but is not limited to: Ring Fix, Hindfoot Nail, minimally invasive surgeries and Total Ankle Arthroplasty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with Corporate National and Regional Sales Managers, and corporate and agency leadership to identify training needs/opportunities and to implement tactics to support business needs. Develops systematic integration of feedback in formulating strategic plans for Sales Training.
  • Works closely with members of the National Sales Team to ensure the appropriate creation and execution of learning and development content (ECI templates, AXIS implementation, etc.), programs and platforms to support the company’s marketing and business plans.
  • Works in close collaboration with Director and Sr. Manager, Global Foot & Ankle and Trauma, to identify critical sales competencies and develop short, medium and long term plans to develop teams in those areas.
  • Responsible for identifying new and emerging learning trends, executing against short and long-term strategies, and developing platforms to support learning and development initiatives.
  • Responsible for identifying, developing, and fostering business relationships with key outside parties that will support the business plans and growth objectives of the business.
  • Effectively executes and facilitates results through the development of strong partnerships with counterparts with a particular emphasis on Sales, National Accounts, Product Management, Marketing and Medical Education.
  • Works with Meetings team to organize training venues, logistics, transport, accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery.
  • Stays abreast of trends within Training and Development. Adapt new approaches as appropriate. Accountable for ensuring the maximization of sales force competency and performance via statistical models tied to sales results.
  • Travel up to 70% field and Arthrex, Inc.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Marketing, Science or related fields; MBA Preferred.
  • 10+ years of sales or industry experience required.
  • 3+ years of direct responsibility for all aspects of a learning function in some combination of: sales, marketing, training, or product management; orthopedic / medical device experience preferred.
  • Experience in Sales operations and sales effectiveness required.
  • Direct experience working with external customers required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Must be capable of influencing internal and external sales personnel and recognized as a learning expert within both groups.
  • Knowledgeable of clinical/hospital/physician environment.
  • Strong project management, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience in business planning, strategy development, and execution of solutions/programs in healthcare environments.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, organization and planning skills.
  • Training in the area of professional selling and sales process.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience preferred.
  • Results oriented and client focused.
  • Resourceful and creative regarding resources.
  • Able to work collaboratively across functional boundaries.
