Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States seeks a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager/Technical Discipline Manager (TDM) to lead the national electrical engineering practice, oversee RTLs and teams across the country, and provide technical leadership for complex industrial, petrochemical, oil & gas, power, utility, and substation projects.

The role requires PE licensure with ~15 years of related experience, travel 20-40%, and preferred locations including OH/PA/NJ/NY/VA/GA.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills and ability to lead interdisciplinary teams.
Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, and standards.
Experience with design tools including CAD, 3D/4D modeling, and power system studies.

Responsibilities

Provide national leadership for the electrical engineering discipline as TDM for Industrial & Power.
Oversee Regional Technical Leads and electrical teams nationwide.
Establish discipline standards, design criteria, tools, and best practices across regions.
Mentor and develop engineering leaders and staff; support performance management.
Drive growth through staffing, capability development, and resource planning.
Ensure quality and compliance across EPC, EPCM, and design-only projects.
