Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager / Technical Discipline Manager to lead, oversee, and grow our national electrical engineering practice.

You will manage Regional Technical Leads and electrical teams across the United States, providing technical leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for complex industrial, petrochemical, oil and gas, power, utility, and substation projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
PE license is required or can be pursued.
15 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Provide national leadership for the electrical engineering discipline as Technical Discipline Manager.
Oversee RTLs and electrical engineering teams across the U.S.
Establish and maintain design criteria, tools, and standards across regions.
Mentor and develop engineering leaders; support performance management and succession planning.
Drive growth through strategic hiring and capability development.
Ensure technical quality and compliance across EPC, EPCM, and design‑only projects.
