Job description

Redefine Management is a network of musculoskeletal Care Centers across New Jersey, offering pain management, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and physical therapy through a coordinated system of specialists. The finance team supports a multi-entity organization spanning multiple practices and locations.

Redefine Management is seeking an operational, hands-on Controller to join its finance leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will build and maintain the financial infrastructure, accounting discipline, and operational rigor needed to support the organization's continued multi-entity growth and national expansion.

This is not a traditional back-office Controller role. We are looking for a builder: someone who can design scalable processes, optimize financial systems, and support the integration of acquired practices, while partnering closely with executive leadership and the Care Center network. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with hands‑on experience scaling finance functions and systems in a multi‑entity, technology-enabled environment.

Job Title: National Corporate Controller

Salary:$230,000 – 250,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Benefits:Competitive benefits package including paid time off, paid sick time, medical, dental, vision, accident, and critical illness insurance, life insurance, 401(k) with Company match, and discretionary annual bonus eligibility of up to 10%.

Key responsibilities:
  • Own the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain audit‑ready monthly financial records.
  • Design, implement, and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Direct external audits and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors and advisors.
  • Oversee tax compliance in coordination with external advisors.
  • Drive ongoing improvement in close efficiency, reporting quality, and financial transparency.
Build and scale the finance function
  • Serve as a hands‑on builder of scalable financial and accounting infrastructure in a growing, multi‑entity organization.
  • Develop processes, workflows, controls, and reporting structures that support expansion from both organic growth and acquisitions.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively implement solutions.
  • Balance strategic planning with day‑to‑day execution across the accounting function.
NetSuite and Ramp leadership, automation, and AI‑enabled finance
  • Serve as the organization's NetSuite and Ramp subject matter expert.
  • Direct ERP optimization initiatives, workflow enhancements, reporting improvements, and system integrations.
  • Identify, scope, and implement automation and AI‑enabled tools across the accounting and finance functions, including close automation, exception handling, and reporting. Candidates should be prepared to describe a specific automation or AI project they scoped, implemented, or managed.
  • Improve visibility, efficiency, and scalability through technology‑enabled solutions.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with the systems team to ensure data integrity across NetSuite, Ramp, and adjacent platforms.
Operational finance partnership
  • Partner with operations and executive leadership, including Care Center managers and physicians, to support business performance.
  • Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for clinical leaders, executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and reporting dashboards that improve organizational accountability.
Growth, M&A, and multi‑entity integration support
  • Support the financial requirements of a fast‑growing, multi‑entity healthcare organization.
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence, financial integration, and onboarding of new entities onto shared systems and processes.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reporting required by executive leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Help establish the financial foundation needed to support future growth.
Leadership and accountability
  • Oversee, mentor, and develop the accounting, accounts payable, and payroll teams.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and measurable outcomes.
  • Build scalable training, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Executive communication and influence
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to the CFO and executive leadership team.
  • Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Present financial results, risks, opportunities, and recommendations with clarity and credibility.
Required qualifications

  • 10 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Five or more years of Controller or equivalent senior finance experience.
  • Deep expertise in accounting operations, financial reporting, month‑end close, and internal controls.
  • Proven, hands‑on experience with NetSuite required, including system configuration, reporting, and process ownership.
  • Proven, hands‑on experience with NetSuite integrated AP Platform (Ramp, Bill.com, etc.) required, including expenses, credit cards, and AP approval and payment workflow administration.
  • Demonstrated experience applying automation or AI‑enabled tools to a finance or accounting function, with the ability to describe a specific project scoped, implemented, or managed.
