Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks a Civil Engineering Practice Lead for its growing national aviation practice. This role leads strategy, client development, and technical delivery to support major airport projects across the U.S., guiding a multidisciplinary team toward innovative, cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in civil engineering, a PE license, and proven FAA/airport project experience.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one US State.
• Design experience on FAA and airport authority aviation projects.
• Experience managing and leading staff on aviation projects.
• Experience in business development with project wins.
• Ability to hire, manage, and motivate staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continue development of a progressive national aviation practice.
• Build, maintain, and manage client relationships to secure aviation projects nationwide.
• Serve as technical lead for civil engineering designs, drawings, specs, and cost estimates for landside and airside works.
• Provide leadership, coaching and supervision to design staff to meet objectives.
• Assist with talent acquisition to grow the aviation practice.
• Develop and implement business development strategies for airport projects.
• Collaborate with other Langan disciplines to cross-sell aviation services across North America.
