Job description

Description NATL ABL AUDIT SPECIALIST

This position is responsible for conducting collateral examinations on new, potential loan customers and highly complex and/or troubled borrowers. The primary purpose of this position is to evaluate collateral related to the existence and valuation of accounts receivable and/or inventory balances to be relied upon in the extension of credit to borrowers: 1) new, 2) poor performing and/or 3) select specialized industries.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Collateral Exams; Performance of due diligence (over $5MM or considered higher risk), collateral exams ensuring productive performance, responsiveness to internal customer needs, and adherence to CEG prescribed controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Performance of the most complex field exams, including those requiring travel across regions and for companies within targeted specialized industries.
  • As appropriate, schedule post exam meetings with business unit and credit managers to discuss collateral issues/areas of concern noted during examination.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement for lender communication with borrowers.
  • Assist CEG Market Manager in monitoring the effectiveness of current market/industry policies and procedures and recommend enhancements to ensure maximum protection of the Bank's assets.
  • Timely communication and escalation of critical exam findings, concerns, or suspicion of fraud between CEG and the lending, credit, and fraud areas.
  • Knowledge of all key aspects of CEG market activity, including outstanding critical findings, for daily interaction with CEG, Lending, and Credit management.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of field exams as assigned by CEG Market Manager to ensure accuracy and proper identification of issues while proactively identifying/addressing potential risks in the ABL field exam process.
  • Maintain a high standard for the accuracy and quality of field exam reports and workpapers.
  • Perform inventory evaluations, as necessary. Stay fully informed about field exams by reading and reviewing daily updates.
  • Address any concerns immediately to minimize impact. Communicate/elevate issues to CEG Market Manager as applicable.
  • Staff Development: In conjunction with CEG Market Manager and National CEG leader, assist in developing ways to share subject matter expertise with CEG colleagues, particularly those who do not work on the most complex exams.
