Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts is hiring a Counter Sales associate in New Jersey. You will assist customers, answer questions, process transactions, and help customers find the right parts, both in-store and over the phone.

We offer free uniforms, employee discounts, a flexible schedule, and a friendly work environment. Weekend availability is required to join our winning team, with opportunities to grow knowledge of NAPA KnowHow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior automotive experience required; ASE certification a plus.
• Strong customer service and cash-handling skills.
• Flexible schedule to include some weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with auto parts questions in person or via telephone.
• Handle cash and other purchasing transactions.
• Operate the cataloging system to retrieve up-to-date parts information.
• Communicate features, benefits, and warranty policies to customers.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude and appearance at all times.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Assist customers with their auto parts questions and needs, either in person or via the telephone
• Handle cash and other purchasing transactions
• Operate the electronic and paper cataloging system to retrieve up to date parts information
• Effectively communicate features, benefits and warranty policy information to customers
• Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude as well as professional conduct and appearance at all times.

Required skills include:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Prior automotive experience required, ASE Certification is a plus
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some weekends, evenings and holidays
• Must enjoy working with people in a fast-paced and exciting environment
