Job summary

E Logic seeks a Nanolithography Toolbox Specialist to support the NIST CNST NanoFab in Gaithersburg, MD. The role develops and maintains the Nanolithography Toolbox, a platform‑independent software for scripted lithography pattern layout generation used by researchers and engineers.

The ideal candidate has strong Java and JavaFX skills with experience in scientific/design software, GUI design, and integration with Matlab/Python. On-site government contract reporting to CNST NanoFab management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum five (5) years of software development experience.
• US Citizenship or permanent residency required.
• Must be able to obtain a NIST site badge; background check and fingerprinting required.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaFX, Python, HTML5, CSS, JS; familiar with Matlab/LaTeX; experience with IDEs and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Nanolithography Toolbox (NT) application.
• Migrate NT to the latest OpenJDK and JavaFX versions (currently 25).
• Design and implement new GUI components for advanced functionality.
• Develop Visual Studio Code editor scripts and VS Code templates for autocompletion.
• Author and maintain LaTeX documentation and release notes.
• Deliver platform-agnostic software packages for each release.
