Job summary

The Department of State's NAGPRA Coordinator in the Division of Historical Resources coordinates responsibilities under NAGPRA and Florida's unmarked human grave law. The role manages inventories, consultations with consulting parties, repatriation work, and serves as the primary contact with National NAGPRA and other institutions.

Qualifications

• Six years of direct work experience in anthropology/archaeology/history/law/native studies, or a master’s in these fields.
• Knowledge of NAGPRA and related regulations.
• Experience with culturally sensitive holdings and collections management.
• Knowledge of cataloguing, classifying, and interpreting archival data.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate NAGPRA compliance and inventories.
• Organize consultations with consulting parties and stakeholders.
• Oversee repatriation activities and documentation.
• Serve as primary contact with National NAGPRA and other institutions.
