Job description

Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Nacora, our Jersey City site is looking for a new Nacora Claims Marine Liability Specialist to join our Insurance Brokers team.

Your Role

Professionally handle logistics liability claims for Canada, Mexico, and the USA, focusing on customer satisfaction, retention, and avoiding unnecessary litigation and unjustified settlements.

Your Responsibilities
  • Claims Handling through use of a broad spectrum of transportation knowledge of freight forwarding.
  • Accurately manage the financial and administrative aspects of liability claims in the claim management system, including effective e-filing, setting up reserves, claim negotiation, settlements, and recoveries.
  • Responsible for providing transparency in claim statistics by maintaining impeccable claim data through the proprietary e-claims system and preparing and discussing reports with national management on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Actively investigate, analyze, and pursue recoveries against third parties.
  • Ensure all claims are handled and processed in line with internal claim handling operating procedures.
  • Responsible for conducting effective liability claim training for internal and external customers.
  • Provide day-to-day support to internal customers and their staff on claim-related matters.
  • Educate and make recommendations based on insurance policies while highlighting the importance of cargo insurance and risk transfer.
  • Manage the claim portfolio of certain internal customers and hold regular update meetings.
  • Manage litigation; instruct lawyers, monitor the progress of litigated claims, report adequately to stakeholders, and attend mediations.
Your Skills and Experiences
  • 5+ years of handling transportation liability claims.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing litigated claims.
  • 5+ years in freight forwarding.
  • Track record of successful recoveries against 3rd party subcontractors.
