Job description

We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on expertise across multiple MySQL versions to manage, optimize, and support mission-critical database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, automation, and high-availability operations, while working closely with application and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain MySQL databases across versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8, and 8.4.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and security of MySQL database environments.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively tune queries and system parameters.
  • Design, implement, and manage robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Perform regular database maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, and version migrations.
  • Lead and support database migration projects, including on-premises to cloud and major version upgrades.
  • Implement database security controls in alignment with compliance standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to optimize SQL queries and improve database schema and design.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell scripting to streamline operational tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production and non-production environments.
  • Define and enforce database best practices, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical teams and management stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
