The Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission seeks experienced MW Class II Roadway employees for the Castalia Maintenance Building in Castalia, OH. Join Northern Ohio’s vital transportation resource and contribute to the future of our highway system.

Must possess a Class A CDL with no restrictions and a tanker endorsement, and be prepared for long hours, on-call duties, and exposure to harsh conditions. Training and advancement opportunities are available within our Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with no restrictions and a tanker endorsement.
• Lift and carry 40 pounds frequently and 80 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work long hours if needed, various work shifts, including summer night work, possibly in extreme weather conditions.
• Required to be on call outside of regularly scheduled working hours.
• Respond to emergencies and accident scenes.
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, work in confined spaces and elevated or high work areas.
• Exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, unpleasant odors, loud noise, vibration, hazardous materials, surface spills, human blood, bodily fluids, animal carcasses.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair asphalt and concrete.
• Joint and crack sealing.
• Install and repair guardrail and various types of fence.
• Drainage and ditch maintenance.
• Roadside clean-up and mowing.
• Cutting and chipping various size trees and brush.
• Traffic control and working in high-speed traffic conditions.
• Snow and Ice removal.
• Operate and transport heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, dozers, rollers, skid steers, post pounders, concrete saws, brush chippers, and flail mowers.
• Operate large trucks including single/double axel and tractor trailers.
• Operate small tools such as jackhammers, hammer drills, chain saws, weed eaters, and lawn mowers.

The Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission is seeking experienced MW Class II Roadway employees to work in our Maintenance Department at the Castalia Maintenance Building in Castalia, OH. Examples of Duties

Must Have Knowledge And Experience In The Following Areas

• Install and repair asphalt and concrete
