The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all medium- and high-voltage (MV/HV) electrical completion, startup, and commissioning (CSU) activities, beginning with discipline completions of electrical systems and subsystems through final project handover. This role ensures the safe energization, testing, protection coordination, and operational readiness of all MV/HV electrical infrastructure supporting the data center. The MV/HV Electrical CSU Lead will provide technical leadership, oversee commissioning execution, and ensure all systems are completed, tested, and transferred in accordance with project requirements, maintaining continuity from Substantial Completion through Facility Custody Transfer.

Key Responsibilities And Duties
  • Lead the completion, startup, testing, energization, and commissioning of all MV/HV electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection relays, bus duct, MV cabling, grounding systems, and utility service equipment.
  • Manage the progression of electrical systems through Mechanical Completion (MC), Pre-Functional Testing (PFT), Commissioning, and Ready for Start-Up (RFSU) milestones.
  • Review and validate protection and control systems, including relay settings, coordination studies, arc flash analyses, breaker trip curves, interlocks, and fail-safe logic.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and utility providers to develop and implement compliant protection schemes and energization strategies.
  • Direct MV/HV testing activities, including insulation resistance, hi-pot, relay functional, primary/secondary injection, transformer oil, and cable VLF testing.
  • Develop and execute safe energization plans in accordance with project requirements, utility standards, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the primary interface between engineering, construction, commissioning, utility, and automation teams to ensure system readiness and resolve commissioning-related issues.
  • Ensure timely closure of punch list items, successful system turnover, and achievement of commissioning milestones.
  • Maintain and verify electrical documentation, including single-line diagrams, relay logic drawings, cable schedules, test records, commissioning procedures, and turnover packages.
  • Ensure all commissioning records and turnover documentation are complete, accurate, and audit-ready for client handover.
  • Lead electrical safety planning and enforce compliance with NFPA 70E, IEEE, utility requirements, and project safety standards.
  • Identify commissioning risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support safe execution of all MV/HV energization activities.
