Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services seeks a dedicated CNA to provide daily supportive and functional care for residents in a compassionate setting. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team and support residents’ participation in daily activities, reporting observations to licensed staff as needed.

The role emphasizes maintaining residents’ dignity, assisting with mealtimes, and documenting care while upholding safety standards in a well-structured facility.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required in MO or IL; PA enrollment within 120 days of program completion in PA registry.
• Ability to communicate with residents and maintain dignity.
• Experience with direct patient/resident care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supportive care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Respond to call bells, observe, and report changes to the nurse.
• Assist with meals and feeding for residents needing full help.
• Support residents in care/service plans to improve lives.
• Document care in clinical records and keep a clean, safe environment.

Works as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on the resident as the director of their own care.Job Responsibilities1. Maintains residents’ comfort; provides physical care with activities of daily living according to scope of practice; answers resident’s call lights and requests; reports observations of residents to the nurse2. Handles residents’ personal care needs and support in a timely manner; helps maintain residents’ dignity by letting them do as much for themselves as possible3. Observes residents closely to identify changing needs and conditions and reports information to the nurse4. Actively participates in residents’ care/service plans for the purpose of improving residents’ lives5. Assists residents during mealtimes and feeds residents who need full assistance6. Creates and maintains meaningful relationships with residents and their families; provides support with compassion and professionalism7. Supports residents’ involvement in decision making regarding their own daily activities; Assists residents with activities8.
