Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. seeks a licensed Music Therapist to provide individual, dyad, and group music therapy within our special education and alternative education settings nationwide.

You will develop treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with treatment teams across sites. The role requires AMTA-approved education, MT-BC preferred, and licensure compliance; licensure within 1 week of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from AMTA-approved program; Master’s degree preferred (MMT/MA).
• Board-certified MT-BC preferred; proof of licensure process; apply for LPMT within 1 week of hire.
• Strong clinical musicianship with a strengths-based framework.
• Effective communication with professionals, students and families.
• Ability to work independently at multiple agency sites.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual, dyad, and group music therapy.
• Develops expressive music therapy treatment plans.
• Documents in students’ files per regulatory requirements.
• Collaborates with treatment teams via email, meetings, and consultation.
• Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
• Provides in-service training to team members as appropriate.
• Participates in supervision for the music therapist.
• Maintains licensure according to state and federal regulations.
