Brentwood Hospital is seeking a dynamic Music Therapist - Contractor to join our team dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals and families. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment and offering options for continued improvement after treatment.

Brentwood Hospital is a 260-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, serving Louisiana, East Texas, and South Arkansas for over 45 years. We provide quality services to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, aiming to help individuals and families achieve optimal mental health and an improved quality of life. Our professional team offers individualized treatment in a safe, nurturing environment.

The Music Therapist provides therapeutic recreational and activity services to patients of all ages under Brentwood's care for emotional or substance abuse issues. The contract therapist will deliver music therapy or art therapy activities under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Services.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Designs age-appropriate therapies aligned with the patient’s development and treatment goals, demonstrating sound application of theory and methodology to contribute to patient progress.
2. Plans and prepares activities thoroughly and reports to assigned groups promptly.
3. Maintains administrative documentation related to services provided.
4. Participates in resource allocation, providing budget and purchasing input to supervisors timely and accurately.
5. Contributes to the ongoing implementation of the department's quality improvement plans.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in Music Therapy required
• Licensure/Certification: MT-BC preferred
• Experience: Previous behavioral health experience preferred
• Hours: Determined by the Director of Clinical Services based on facility needs and therapist availability; schedule to be finalized prior to hire.
