Job summary

Simple Steps, LLC is seeking a Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to provide in-home and community music therapy services for veterans in the San Augustine, TX area. This is an employee, part-time position with potential to increase hours to meet veteran needs.

The role involves one-on-one sessions, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and documentation of progress. A Bachelor's degree and MT-BC certification are required, with experience in veterans or mental health areas preferred.

Qualifications

• MT-BC certification required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Experience with traumatic brain injury preferred.
• Experience working with veterans preferred.
• Experience working with mental health conditions preferred.
• Experience working with PTSD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized music therapy sessions for veterans.
• Assist clients with cognitive and physical limitations.
• Facilitate therapeutic music activities to promote client growth.
• Submit weekly documentation with session observations and progress.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support communication and teamwork.

Job Description

The Music Therapist provides individualized therapeutic sessions for our veterans. This position includes the following:

• Assisting clients with cognitive and physical limitations.
• Facilitating therapeutic music activities to foster client growth.
• Submit weekly documentation with session observations and client progress.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to foster communication and team unity.

Qualifications and Preferred Criteria

• MT-BC Certification
• Bachelor's degree or higher

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Traumatic Brain Injury
• Experience working with veterans
• Experience working with mental health conditions
• Experience working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

All individuals should have the following

• Resume
• CPR Certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association only)
• Social Security Card
• Driver's License
